Krystal Appleby

Krystal Appleby, Registered Acupuncturist and TCM Practitioner at Solluna Collective in Fort McMurray
Registered Acupuncturist / Doctor of Acupuncture · TCM Practitioner · Developmental Alphabioticist · Founder

Krystal Appleby is a Registered Acupuncturist who helps people reconnect with their bodies and move through life with more ease, clarity, and truth.

Her training runs in both directions — the practical and the philosophical, East meeting West: a grounded, science-backed foundation held in balance with the five elements and the energetic world of her Chinese medicine training. Over the years she has learned to weave the two together, in a way that shapes how she sees not just a person, but life itself.

Her work blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with Alphabiotics, a modality that helps release deep stress patterns held in the body. Much of her focus is on helping the nervous system become more adaptable — because when it's stuck in tension, the body starts reacting to everyday life as if it's under threat, which over time can show up as pain, exhaustion, anxiety, or a general feeling of being stuck. Krystal's treatments help unwind those patterns so the nervous system can respond to what's actually happening, instead of staying braced for danger that isn't there.

Her approach is rooted in embodiment, not diagnosis. When we put a label on a subset of symptoms and stop there, we ignore the language and intelligence of the body — its ability to give us feedback, and to guide us toward deep healing across every layer, not just the one with a name. She takes the physical work seriously — the needling, the mechanics, the protocol all matter, because none of this means anything if the body doesn't actually change. She has a way of cutting straight through to the truth of what's actually happening. It is rarely just the body. It is the relationship that is not working, the clutter piling up in the house, the inbox you cannot face, a life stretched so thin there is no capacity left — all of it pulling you further from your own truth, until the body starts carrying what you will not. Left alone, that is where things go awry and start showing up as physical symptoms. Caught early — while it is still a slight niggling, a thought you are not quite sure about — and met with real trust in the body, it does not have to become the hard pendulum swing: the difficult life lesson that knocks you down and forces you to rebuild from the ground up. Krystal loves doing this work from an integrative place, weighing the Western data alongside meeting a person exactly where they are at.

Krystal is equally invested in the space itself — a sanctuary, for clients and practitioners alike, built on embodiment rather than performance. Solluna is a place to come as you are, unwind, and reconnect with the parts of you that are ready to move forward.

Outside of practitioner life, you'll find Krystal in the ocean — sometimes on a single tank of air, sometimes on just one breath — meeting the edges of her own limits in water she considers one of life's greatest teachers and revealers. Just as often, she's catching a flight to the next training, teacher, or learning that catches her eye — always a student, always bringing what she finds back into her practice and her own life.
